Fundamentals
iTellco will ask you to enter the gross annual salary and degree of employment for changes, entries, and departures. Here we show you how to calculate this.
1: The gross annual salary (all monthly salaries added together) must always be entered in the ‘Annual salary’ field. (Gross annual salary = AHV salary)
2: in the ‘Degree of employment’ field, enter the percentage of the employee's actual employment.
It is essential that these two principles are always adhered to so that our system can calculate the premiums correctly.
Examples
1. 50 % degree of employment, receives CHF 3000 salary per month, 13 monthly salaries
You have an employee who works 50%, has a gross salary of CHF 3000 per month and receives 13 monthly salaries per year. You calculate the gross annual salary as follows:
- Calculate gross annual salary: CHF 3000 times 13 monthly salaries equals CHF 39,000 gross annual salary.
For ‘Annual salary’ enter ⇒ 39,000 CHF and for ‘Degree of employment’ enter ⇒ 50.0
2. varying degree of employment, receives varying salary per month, 12 monthly salaries
You have an employee with a varying degree of employment (e.g. hourly wage) and varying gross salary per month and receives 12 monthly salaries per year. You calculate the gross annual salary as follows:
- Determine the average/expected degree of employment for the calendar year. Example 70 % on average / expected.
- Calculate the average/expected gross salary per month. Example: 4500 CHF gross per month on average / expected.
- Calculate gross annual salary: 4500 times 12 monthly salaries equals 54,000 gross annual salary.
You enter ⇒ 54,000 for ‘Annual salary’ and ⇒ 70.0 for ‘Degree of employment’
